MUMBAI: Independent label XL Recordings, which released soul singer Adele’s smash hit album ‘21’ has bagged four honours at the Music Week awards.

The label bagged the A&R (artists and repertoire) award, artist marketing campaign for ‘21’, best record company and outstanding contribution by chairman Richard Russell.

Adele presented her manager Jonathan Dickins the 'Manager of the Year' trophy.

The record label started in 1989 and got a breakthrough in 1997 with the hit album ‘The Fat of the Land’, which reached number one in 26 countries worldwide.The label branched out to other genres with artistes like Dizzee Rascal, The White Stripes and more.

BBC’s Radio 6 programme picked up the radio station and radio show awards which was conferred to DJ Steve Lamacq.

Other winners included EMI Music and Universal Music Publishing who won the Publisher of the Year honour for singles and albums respectively. Spotify bagged the Non-Retail Digital Music Service award while iTunes was conferred with the Online Retail Brand trophy.
