Adele to premiere 'Skyfall' on Global James Bond Day

MUMBAI: Marking the 50th anniversary of James Bond film franchise, British soul singer Adele will celebrate the 'Global James Bond Day' with the release of her official James Bond theme song Skyfall on 5 October via official site. The track will also be available for download and pre-order at iTunes .

The theme track is the first recording by Adele since the release of her massively successful sophomore album '21' in early 2011. '21' has sold over 24 million albums worldwide and have received six Grammy Awards, two BRIT Awards and two Ivor Novello Awards.  21 is also named as the biggest selling album of both 2011 and 2012.

With rendition of the official theme track, Adele has joined the line of illustrious pop singers like John Barry, Hal David, Paul McCartney, Madonna, David Arnold and Don Black, who have sung the theme song for James Bond movies.

The next in line James Bond franchise 'Skyfall' is scheduled to release on 26 October 26 in UK and on 9 November 2012 in US. Directed by Sam Mendes and produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the movie stars Daniel Craig as Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 and is written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan.
