Ad Gurus meet for 5th Mirchi KAAN Awards

Mumbai: The 5th Radio Mirchi KAAN Awards awarding the outstanding radio Ad received a great response with more than 700 entries across 15 categories. The other awards in the category include Client of the Year for the most outstanding advertiser of 2007, Radio writer of the year, Agency of the year, Production House of the year and the Voice of the Year Award.Commenting on the significance of the medium and the 5th Mirchi KAAN Awards, ENIL (Radio Mirchi) CEO Prashant Panday said, "The jury we have this year is the highest powered jury any award has witnessed. These are the big daddies of the Indian advertising industry & we're truly honoured to have them on board."

Among the jury include advertising stalwarts including Prasoon Joshi, Piyush Pandey, R Balakrishnan, Ravi Deshpande, Mohammed Khan, KS Chakravarthi, Agnello Dias, KV Sridhar, Rajat Dholakia, Ram Sampath, Priti Nair, Rekha Nigam, Bobby Pawar, Shantanu Moitra, Ramanuj Shastry, Ashish Khazanchi, Gullu Sen, Prahlad Kakkar, Pradeep Sarkar, Josy Paul, Suguna Swami, Senthil Kumar, Sunil Thoppil, Deepa Krishnan & Ramesh Ramanathan.

On this occasion, voicing their thoughts on Success mantra, the honourable jury members said:

McCann Erickson Asia Pacific executive chairman Prasoon Joshi said, "It is important that a Radio Ad is arresting enough to grab the attention of people who are concentrating on something else."

Genesis Films director Prahlad Kakkar was of the opinion that originality and impact go together in Radio advertising. "A good radio ad must be able to surprise you, make you laugh, make you cry, feel good, feel sad, feel something."

Leo Burnett national creative director KV Sridhar said, "The institution of the Mirchi Kaan awards is a great encouragement to make youngsters in advertising take Radio seriously."

Contract Advertising chief creative officer Ravi Deshpande stated, "Judging & recognizing Quality in any medium, and Radio is no exception; is fundamentally a great idea"
