MUMBAI: Absolute Radio, owned by Times group's wholly owned subsidiary TIML Golden Square, will sell Planet Rock's airtime and online advertising from 1 April. Absolute Radio CEO Donnach O'Driscoll settled the deal with Planet Rock owner Malcolm Bluemel and Planet Rock's head of national revenue, Rob Corlett. Planet Rock will be establishing its own sponsorship and promotions team to work alongside Absolute Radio's to specifically sell Planet Rock's sponsorship and promotions assets. Said Absolute Radio CEO Donnach O'Driscoll, "We are also in talks with the Planet Rock team about them renting some empty office space and a studio that we have here at Absolute Radio." O'Driscoll added that Absolute would consider signing more third-party ad sales agreements as and when such opportunities arise. Absolute will take over Planet Rock's agency and online sales agreements, but sponsorship and promotion will stay with Planet Rock for the present time under Corlett's direction. Last year, TIML Golden Square bought Virgin Radio Holdings Ltd. and its subsidiaries in the UK for Ł53.2 million ($105 million) from Scottish media company SMG Plc. Later Virgin Radio was rebranded as Absolute Radio.
