MUMBAI: Oscar - Grammy winning composer A R Rahman is slated to score for an high budgeted Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Sevakudu (Telugu) starring popular Telugu actor Varun Sandesh 

A romantic film, Sevakudu is being directed by Kadir who has earlier directed hits like Prema Desam (Kadhal Desam - Tamil), Hrudayam and Premikula Roju. Sevakudu is slated to release on August 15, Independence Day.

Among his recent Tollywood projects, his score for Vinnaithandi Varuvaya was highly appreciated 

News reports had earlier mentioned that after Rahman's Oscar and Grammy wins, he was shuttling between Chennai and Los Angeles to work on his international projects. However, Rahman signing this Telegu film suggests that he is certainly not sidelining any of the home projects 

Some Rahman's upcoming bollywood releases are Mani Ratnam's Ravana and Abbas Tyrewala's 1-800-LOVE and Telegu film Puli.
