BANGALORE: The sixth season of Asianet's reality show 'Idea Star Singer' begins on 26 September at 8 pm.

Asianet Idea Cellular is a continuous on going show on the channel. The sixth edition was inaugurated by jury members – play back singers Hariharan, K.S.Chithra, M.G.Sreekumar and music director M. Jayachandran in the presence of Asianet managing director K Madhavan and business head John Brittas.

The new edition will have 30 contestants from across Kerala vying for the top spot. Auditions were conducted in all major cities in Kerala and abroad.

Apart from the jury members, prominent personalities from film industry will attend as celebrity guests across episodes.

The producer of season 5 of the show was G.Padmakumar and the jury members included music director Sarath and playback singers K S Chitra and G Sreekumar.

For season 5, the first prize is a villa worth Rs 10 million from Travancore Builders.
