30 Seconds To Mars gears up for 'Love Lust Faith + Dreams'

MUMBAI: American rock band 30 Seconds To Mars is all geared up to launch their fourth studio album titled ‘Love Lust Faith + Dreams’ on 21 May. The album will be released on Universal Music India.

Recently, the band premiered their first single titled ‘Up in the Air’ in space by partnering with NASA. The first copy of the song was carried aboard the SpaceX cargo mission to the space station. The single was premiered by the astronauts in orbit 230 miles above earth. The band also indulged in an interview thereafter with Tom Marshburn, one of the astronauts aboard the space station.

While the Houston city mayor Annise D Parker proclaimed it as 30 Seconds To Mars Day, City council member James G Rodriguez, District I presented the proclamation to the band prior to the their arrival at NASA.

The single was also premiered on radio and is now available at all digital retailers globally. The iTunes pre-order for the album has also been launched simultaneously, where fans who pre-order the album will instantly receive a download of ‘Up in the Air’.

Comprising of 12 tracks, the album has been written and recorded around the world including Europe, India and the band’s studio in California. Four tracks in the album have been produced by lead singer Jared Leto in collaboration with Steve Lillywhite (producer of bands like U2 and The Rolling Stones).

Talking about the album, Leto said, “This is more than an evolution; it’s a brand new beginning. Creatively, we have gone to an entirely new place, which is exciting, unexpected and incredibly inspiring.”

The fourth studio album follows ‘This is War’ that featured hit tracks like ‘This Is War’ and ‘Kings and Queens’. During their two year tour in support of the album, the rock group had played over 311 shows in nearly 60 countries on six continents to three million people, breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest ever concert tour by a rock band.

A special documentary titled ‘Artifact’ showcasing the band’s battle with its record label, had also won the People’s Choice documentary award at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, the Audience Award at the 2012 Gotham Independent Film Awards and it was also an official selection of the 2013 SXSW film festival.

The band consisting of Leto, Shannon Leto and Tomo Milicevic has sold over five million albums worldwide and the band’s videos have more than 300 million views on YouTube.
