MUMBAI: The music of Hindi comedy film 99 starring Kunal Khemu, Soha Ali Khan, Boman Irani, Vinod Khanna, Mahesh Manjrekar and Cyrus Broacha was released on the Saregama label on  16 April.

The event saw live performances by the music director Ashu Phatak (part of the Ashu-Dhruv combo) who performed 'Delhi Destiny' with Zee's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa finalist Raja Hassan on the vocals. Music director Shamir Tandon hosted the event while upcoming music directors Roshan Machado and Mahesh Shanker came with their guitars and rare instruments like the Khol (Anand Lahiri) to perform acoustic versions of the tracks. Boman Irani too showed his singing skills on the track 'Whats Up'. The album features six original tracks and three remix versions.

At first glance, the songs sound great and have a fun and comic element to it - having said that, one has to wait till the film releases. The music video of 'Delhi Destiny' is already being aired on MTV and Channel [V] and several other music channels, followed by a 90 second song 'Soch Mat Dobara'.

99 is produced by People Pictures, a fast growing group which is the brainchild of Anupam Mittal. Presently, the group owns and manages companies websites like Shaadi.com, Fropper.com, Makaan.com, Mauj Mobile and People Pictures.
