Zakir Hussain, Shiv Kumar Sharma concert in Delhi on Friday

MUMBAI: Classical music aficionados in the capital are in for a real treat as acclaimed santoor player Pandit Shiv Kumar  Sharma and  Grammy-winning tabla maestro Ustad  Zakir Hussain will perform together here on Friday.

"  Music in the Park"-- a classical music concert of???" Evening Ragas" -???is being organised at the Nehru Park by the New   Delhi  Municipal  Council (NDMC) and SPICMACAY, an NGO promoting  Indian classical music among the youth.

This will be Hussain's second performance in the capital after he won the  Grammy on  February 8 for the???" Global  Drum Project"   Last Monday, he performed with US jazz legend  Herbie  Hancock and R&B singer  Chaka Khan.

Last year, several similar concerts were held in the national capital, with performances by sarod maestro     Ustad  Amjad Ali Khan, vocalist     Ustad  Rashid     Khan and   Mohan veena exponent    Pandit  Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, among others.

" Top-level classical musicians and instrumentalists from across India, including  Girija  Devi and     Ustad  Bismillah Khan, have performed in the   Music in the     Park concerts,"   NDMC spokesperson  Anand  Tiwari said. A similar musical evening featuring sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar and his daughter  Anoushka is planned to be held in   Nehru     Park on  March 1.
