UTV Bindass launches a Rap Song for Republic Day

MUMBAI: UTV Bindass, India's premiere youth brand has launched a special rap song to mark India's 63rd Republic Day. The song, sung by Rap artist Microphon3 a.k.a Tanmay Bahulekar gives a brief insight into the historical aspects of the day, and quickly moves onto what the day has come to mean today.

Keith Alphonso, Business Head, UTV Bindass said, Music has a very strong connect with the youth today. More then half of the total Indian population is below the age of 25 and it is important to reach out to this generation in a language that they understand best. This catchy track by rap artist, Microphone3 a.k.a Tanmay Bahulekar is an initiative by UTV Bindass to reach out to today's youth and make them aware about the significance of Republic Day. UTV Bindass has always believed in highlighting issues that matter to the Indian youth, we have been associated with artist Microphone3 for our property Bindass Rap Attack on similar initiatives earlier as well, where music tracks have been created showcasing the importance of various events and issues like Independence Day, support of Anna Hazare's movement and even the Keenan Reuben issue. The Republic Day track is another attempt by Bindass, India's premiere youth brand in the same direction. By presenting a rap track highlighting the views of today's youth we are hopeful that the video will galvanize the youth to gain deeper understanding of all the things Republic Day embodies....

The song went on air on January 26, 2012 and will also be available online. In the past as well, the channel had taken similar initiatives for Independence Day and to support Anna Hazare's movement. The songs are a part of UTV Bindass' property, Rap Attack'.
