The Ad industry gears up for the 9th Mirchi KAAN Awards

MUMBAI: The most creative radio advertising work of the year 2011 will be awarded at the Mirchi KAAN Awards on Tuesday, 17th April. To be held at The Comedy Store at Phoenix Mills, Lower Parel, the 9th Mirchi KAAN Awards received a record 300 entries (a 50% hike over last year) from across 33 agencies.

Committed to motivating talent in radio advertising, this year, the theme of the Awards is ‘Listen, Learn & Shine’. In a first-ever initiative, Radio Mirchi has brought world renowned radio director/writer and winner of multiple CLIO and D&AD Awards, Tony Hertz who will speak on radio for art directors on the day of the awards.

GG Jayanta, National Marketing Head says’ “This is the first time that we decided to have a workshop before the awards ceremony and we have received a tremendous response from the Ad agencies. The varied experience of the speakers will definitely add value to the creative people from agencies.”

As a run-up to the main awards, Neelesh Mishra, the Journalist, author, Bollywood writer and lyricist will talk on the craft of writing – from a 30 secs ad spot to a 2 ? hrs film. This will be followed by RJ Mir who will chat on how RJs manage to overcome writer’s block. These workshops will be held from 1:30pm to 6:45pm followed by the Awards Nite to be hosted by the inimitable Cyrus Broacha promises to be full of fun and excitement.
