MUMBAI: Sony Music India under its Independent Label, Day 1, brings the 1st integrated urban culture brand – Zomba that presents Zomba Beats- a series of live events promoting hip-hop Culture and artists including Emcees, DJs, BBoys and Graffiti artists. In its 1st edition, Zomba Beats hosts India’s biggest B Boying jam in Mumbai on Sunday July 15th 2012 from 12 noon to 7 pm at Lohana Bhavan, Opposite D-Mart Mall, Vashi, Navi Mumbai. The event will also celebrate 5 years of Freak N Stylz Crew. Commenting on the same, Bob Omulo, Chief Editor Zomba.in, “Zomba is out to revolutionize how hip hop is perceived in the country through events like Zomba Beats. We seek to widen the reach of this culture beyond the usual confines of its homogenous fan base and with this event we aim to get in not just die hard hip hop fans, but also the casual observer, and we believe they will be amazed by the spectacle. Expect more such developments from Zomba in the hip hop space in the near future” With crews from across India - Bangalore, Goa, Delhi, Chennai and other cities, Mumbai on Sunday July 15th will witness exciting events like Crew vs Crew, some incredible, never-before-seen performances featuring emerging talent such as Yatin Ingle rapping in Marathi, bilingual MCs of Hindi (Remedy), Marathi (Anup Sathe) and English (Vineeth 'Beep' Kumar). There will also be exhibition battle between two 12 year old BBoys who already are arguably rated one of the best in the country- Sairaj Methari, Ghajini. Fans will also witness hip hop dance showcase by 13.13 Crew, runners up at all India Hip Hop Dance Championship, popping exhibition battle between the TV stars of Channel V's popular show Dil Dosti Dance- Pratik Kalsi, Shantanu Maheshwari, hip hop dance battle between Mumbai's best and Pune's best dance crews and the battle of champions between B Boy Nas (Battle of The Year (BOTY) India Champion) vs B Boy Nevermind (R16 India Champion). B Boy Orion one of India’s oldest B Boys will be seen on a comeback battle, in addition to the battles, there are judges’ showcase by B Boy Leo (Switzerland). The event will feature a Graffiti stall by one of Mumbai's promising young graffiti artist Melroy Pamak and will also include Youth Incorporated the new youth magazine and supported by the Indian Bboying Federation.
