Saraswati Music College organized a five day long art camp WRYKT-VYAKT

MUMBAI: Saraswati Music College organized a five day long art camp WRYKT-VYAKT at the premises of SMC, Safdarjang enclave from 12TH Oct to 16th Oct 2008, with 22 renowned artists under one roof. The camp was initiated to promote the rich diversity of Indian’s culture and arts and to explore more global stages for groups and artists. The closing ceremony of the camp on 16th October was an affair to remember where many renowned artists, celebrities, Bolly wood beauties and dignitaries such as AMJAD ALI KHAN ,ANIL SHASTRI,GIRIJA VYAS,JAI PRAKASH AGGARWAL,RAJEEV LOCHAN,SHIBANI KAYSHAP, , JAGJIT SINGH, ANURADHA PRASAD and others  joined in to celebrate the success of this special occasion.

Participating Artists List include famous names such as SHAMSHAD HUSSAIN(M.F.HUSSAIN’S SON),ASHOK BHOMICK,CHARAN SHARMA, DIPALI BHATTACHARYA, GOPI GAJWANI, HARSHAVARDHAN, JAIDEEP MEHROTRA, JAYSHREE CHAKRAVARTY, LAXMAN AELAY, MANISH PUSHKALE, NUPUR KUNDU, PRAMOD GANPATYE, RAHUL JAIN & GUNJAN ARORA, RAJENDAR TIKU, SANJEEV VERMA, SUBRATA KUNDU, SUDIP ROY ,SUMAN ROY, VIJENDAR SHARMA ,VILAS KULKARNI, VINOD SHARMA, DHARMENDRA RATHORE.

During the camp many interesting programmes were organized. Famous artist SUBRATA KUNDU’S birthday was celebrated in a unique manner at the camp on 14th October, twenty two renowned artists came together to work with fifty under privileged children and art students to create work of art. These creations jointly signed by the artists and the students were given to CRY Foundation to further their cause. During the art camp special preview of paintings by these artists and a cultural program by Folk dancers was also held to celebrate the spirit of expression.

SMC is shortly launching one of a kind in-house art galleria The ArtSastra. The gallery is a cut above it’s contemporaries with avant-garde infrastructure, and is designed to house the finest of expositions. ArtSastra is the embodiment of a conceptual space where the wrykt (emptiness) and the vyakt (manifest) take place. Through this Art Camp, SMC intends to bring forth to the world, the existence of this space, wherein the artist and the art-lover or an enthusiast come together to explore this process of manifestation through an artwork.

According to Mr Vipul Saini, ED SMC, "We endeavor to take the idea of the art camp one step further, whereby, we invite the public to come and experience how an artist, starting from a blank canvas, goes on to creating art that moves and stirs the onlookers in its final manifestation
