MUMBAI: A flute recital combined with a group of energetic dancers, and a sand sculptor opened the cultural programme of the Murari Bapu cultural and spiritual fest.
Baljinder regaled one and all with his unique rendering on the bansuri from traditional, classical to Rajesh Khanna’s evergreen Mere Spanon Ki Rani number, Damadum Mast Kalander, Pankh Hote To Ud Aati Re that had everyone including Makarand Deshpande and host Madan Paliwal and son Mantra Raj Paliwal dancing. Baljinder’s Aadha Hai Chandra maa invited a garba frenzy among over 15000 people followed by Kajra Re Kajra Re and a host of other numbers.
22-member group Prince Dance Group with its 22 members, coloured in silver regaled audiences with amazing performances on Krishna Avtaar. Nilesh Bharti’s dextrous fingers created amazing works of art from a simple sand box and ended with an eye-opener on female infanticide.
All in all, an entertaining event indeed.
