MUMBAI: The SaĂŻd Business School, one of Europe's youngest and most entrepreneurial business schools, has appointed Mr. AP Parigi, former Managing Director & Group CEO, Eros India, as a member of its business advisory council. Mr. Parigi will rub shoulders with thought leaders from Deutsche Bank; Bain Capital; Walton Bates; Hellman & Friedman; LinkedIn; L'Oreal UK & Ireland; Twitter, Inc.; HMV Group; De Beers Group of Companies; Lloyds Baking Group plc., to name a few. The only other Indian professional on the council is Subramanian Ramadorai, Vice Chairman, Tata Consultancy Services.

An integral part of the University of Oxford, the SaĂŻd Business School embodies the academic rigour and forward thinking that has made Oxford a world leader in education. Members of the council provide advice and guidance on several initiatives and programmes of the school and assist in the development of links between the Centre and the wider business, academic and policy communities.

Mr. Parigi is credited with developing Radio Mirchi, India's largest private radio network, into a power brand and one of the fastest growing media platforms, with a footprint of more than 200 million people across 32 cities, and broadcasting in 10 languages throughout India, within seven years of inception.

He successfully led the dialogue with the regulatory bodies for the Phase II radio policy which paved the way for the exponential growth of the private FM radio sector in India. He lead managed the acquisition of the UK radio business franchise of the SMG group – the first overseas acquisition by any Indian media group.

More recently, Mr. Parigi received the Life Time Achievement Award by the World Brand Congress in Mumbai for his contribution in building the brand Radio Mirchi during his tenure as MD and CEO of Entertainment Network India Limited.

Earlier in April 2009, he was also awarded the 2009 Rensselaer Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship in the Lally School of Management & Technology, New York.

A rare distinction of having held business leadership positions in the field of telecommunications, media & entertainment, in the last 35 years, that's Mr. Parigi. He serves on Boards of several Times of India Group companies including Times Innovative Media Limited (out-of-home), Times Now (television), and WorldWide Media (a joint venture with the BBC).
