Republic Day celebrations on 93.5 Red FM

MUMBAI: India became a Republic on 26th January 1950. This was the day when we were granted our Fundamental Rights. However with the course of time, all of us have made our own set of fundamental rights (wrongs) that we take great pride in exercising. For instance the right to not pay taxes, the right to drink and drive or the right to not exercise one's vote. Our netas, filmstars, sportsperson, government officials are no less in making their own sets of rights

On the occasion of Republic Day, Red FM is shining the spotlight on such wrongs that citizens have made their fundamental rights.

Ram Gopal Verma seems to think it is his fundamental Right to be Wrong' to not only making Agyaat but also plan a sequel to it. On the other hand, Indian Railway's exercises its right to be wrong' by refusing to maintain the railways for which they are allocated a maintenance budget every year. While the Aam aadmi has made it his right to be wrong... to spit everywhere, after all he does pay his taxes.

The Red FM RJs will be leading this activity by talking to celebrities, government officials, traffic regulation violators, jaywalkers, college students, etc. and asking them what rights (wrongs) they have made for themselves.

Speaking on the occasion, Anuj Singh, National Marketing Head of Red FM said, 26th January is a day of great pride for all of us Indians but at Red FM we wanted to point out all those wrongs that we do conveniently believing them to be our rights. However, the route taken to do this is in keeping with our Bajaate Raho attitude and is a tongue in cheek commentary on people's attitudes...

Red FM will also be running a contest asking listeners to send in their own personal right to be wrong. On 26th January the Red FM Outdoor Broadcast Jocks will be on the ground asking people on the streets what they think about the right to be wrong; and how the same can be rectified.
