Reliance BIG TV to premiere Pink Floyd's "PULSE" - Signs deal with Sony Music for exclusive rights

MUMBAI: Reliance BIG TV announces the premiere of British Rock legend Pink Floyd's Pulse... on its pay-per-view service. The company has signed a 4 week content agreement with Sony Music to showcase Floyd's Pulse on its PPV service. The concert will be on Reliance BIG TV from August 28th 2009 onwards. Those wishing to view this concert can view it on Reliance BIG TV's PPV service for Rs 50.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Mahesh Prasad, President, Reliance Communications said, This content acquisition is in line with our goal to provide our customers with world class, superior and exclusive content.  Reliance BIG TV is planning to aggressively drive its PPV viewership through differentiated non-film content acquisitions in DTH space. Keeping in view the diverse set of customers we have, we strive to cater to all genres with entertainment like domestic & International acclaimed movies, blockbusters, classical, theatrical promos, concerts and shows....

Stylised as P?¸U?¸L?¸S?¸E, the album is gracefully directed by veteran music video and concert director David Mallet. Shot on video during Pink Floyd's two-week stint at London's Earls Court Exhibition Centre in October 1994, this 145-minute performance (from Floyd's Division Bell tour) is a sonic marvel to behold.

This is followed by 4 tracks from The Division Bell tour, 2 from 1987's A Momentary Lapse of Reason, "Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)" from 1979's magnum opus The Wall, and leading into intermission with an absolutely stunning performance of "One of These Days," the timeless opening track from 1971's Meddle.

The centerpiece is a near-perfect performance of 1974's Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety--reason enough to make this a must watch concert for all Pink Floyd fans.

Reliance BIG TV recently showcased the late pop legend Michael Jackson with the premiere of MJ's Live in Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour on its PPV service which was the first non-film premiere on the DTH platform in India. The premiere saw an excellent response from Reliance BIG TV customers.
