Red FM once again proves the power of radio
MUMBAI: The power of radio cannot be underestimated. This was brought to the fore in an extraordinary episode on Red FM’s show 'Mumbai Local' where RJ Rishi Kapoor introduced a street musician, Kumarjeet Ghosh, who plays the mouth organ for alms, requesting talent hunters to help him realize his dream; and the caller was indeed a surprise!
Kumarjeet Ghosh has been playing the mouth organ since many years on local trains/streets in the evenings, asking for alms and simultaneously works as a watchman during the day to make ends meet.
Kumarjeet got a chance to come on air on RJ Rishi Kapoor’s evening show. The RJ asked in the course of his show if any music director would be interested in offering Kumarjeet a job. Within a few minutes, they received a call from TV actor/producer Karanveer Bohra- who was mesmerisguped by Kumarjeet’s musical prowess. He immediately wanted to speak to him and said that he was planning to make a movie wherein Kumarjeet could work. Within a span of minutes, a radio station had changed the life of a watchman and provided him with an opportunity that would hopefully better his life!
This heartwarming incident has indeed restored faith in humanity and in the phrase 'dreams do come true'.
