Radio Mirchi's 'Baarish Genie' initiative culminates in Mumbai

MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM concluded its unique cancer awareness drive Baarish Genie' at the Tata Memorial hospital in Mumbai today. Noted MP Priya Dutt graced the occasion and handed over the entire collection from the campaign which included rain gear, money and health food supplements etc to the cancer patients at the hospital.

Announced earlier this month, the Baarish Genie' campaign was introduced in association with the Nargis Dutt Memorial Charitable Trust urging Mumbaikars to donate wholeheartedly for all cancer affected children at the Hospital. Additionally, through this drive Radio Mirchi also educated Mumbaikars about the disease, symptoms, preventive measures and dispelled various myths associated with cancer.

I am grateful to Radio Mirchi listeners for having contributed generously to the Baarish Genie campaign and request them to continue doing so. Cancer is not something that can be cured with money alone. Playing with these children, spending some time with them and a little bit of caring for them can do what most treatments can't. I feel everybody should come forward and help in bringing a smile to their faces... said Priya Dutt.

As part of the Baarish Genie' campaign, Radio Mirchi aired special stories and programming capsules to impart information on Cancer. Several renowned cancer specialists, paediatric specialists, celebrities also participated in on-air discussions on the cause and the subject. Besides encouraging listeners to make donations in full force, Radio Mirchi also invited Mumbaikars to participate in blood donation camps.
