Radio Mirchi pays homage to Michael Jackson and RD Burman

MUMBAI: 2009 was recorded in World history as the day that saw the 69th birth anniversary of the music legend R.D. Burman and mourned the sudden demise of the �King of Pop' - Michael Jackson. As a mark of respect to both legends, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM commemorated a series of special programming for both MJ's fans and also to the music maestro RD Burman.

As a part of this special programming, RJ's were heard talking about MJ's journey and the impact he had left on his fans. The discussions with the listeners revolved around the fact that they have grown up listening to MJ's songs. In addition to this, the celebrities who were influenced by him such as Javed Jaffrey, Bappi Lahiri, Prabhudeva and others were heard paying their condolences on-air. The station also received endless number of calls from the listeners who expressed their grief. As a tribute, the station played the all-time hits of Michael J in its party music show �Club Mirchi'.

Additionally, RJ Sayema dedicated her show Purani Jeans to R D Burman. In this special capsule, Radio Mirchi honoured the legend by airing foot tapping RD songs, shared anecdotes about his life and provided listeners a unique opportunity to win beautifully crafted charcoal sketches of RD Burman.
