Radio Mango 91.9 & Kochi City Police launches 'Traffic Infoline'

MUMBAI: Pioneering FM revolution in Kerala, Radio Mango 91.9 today launched Traffic Infoline... in association with Kochi City Police. This joint initiative is designed to help the commuters of Kochi get real time traffic- related information while on the move. Public can now call 3 easy-to-remember numbers -  3113141, 3113151, 3113161 and inform the Traffic Police or Radio Mango studio about any traffic related issues they face while traveling within the city. Based on the information received from the Public, Police will try to provide timely solutions which will subsequently be aired on Radio Mango. Reliance Communications supported the initiative by providing the entire back-end solutions. Traffic Infoline was inaugurated by Mr.Vinson M. Paul, Inspector General of Police. The function was attended by Mr.Manoj Abraham, Commissioner of Police, Mr.T. Vikram, Dy. Commissioner of Police, Mr.Cherian Peter, Circle Head - Reliance Communications and various other officials from Police,  Reliance and the Media.

Announcing the launch of Traffic Infoline, Mr. Vinson M Paul, Inspector General of Police said, The City Police is extremely delighted to associate with Radio Mango for this highly beneficial venture. We have always been committed to public service. This initiative is a great opportunity  for the City Police to bring its services closer to the public. I request Kochiites to participate and make the best  use of this service....

City Police Commissioner, Mr.Manoj Abraham gave the first traffic message on air in the form of a safety tip for pedestrians to ensure their safety on roads.

Kamal Krishnan, Senior Manager-Marketing, Radio Mango 91.9, explaining the genesis and operational process of Traffic Infoline said, It is a first-of-its-kind partnership with Police by any FM station in the State. Partnering with Traffic Police was the key to provide timely traffic solutions to public, and we hope this will help to make life much more easier for commuters stuck in traffic.

Radio Mango will run extensive promotions on air and print to popularize the Traffic Infoline  numbers. Extending this partnership, Radio Mango is planning various other Public Service Initiatives along with the Police.
