Bangalore: Radio City 91.1 FM, Bangalore’s most loved radio station came up with a unique way to celebrate Raksha Bandhan this year – Rickshaw Bandhan. Radio City RJs Rachna, Sowjanya and Sunethra went about forging brotherly ties with auto-rickshaw drivers in Bangalore in an effort to bridge the autodriver-commuter gap.
Autowalas in the areas of Jayanagar, Padmanabhanagar, Shantinagar and Bannerghatta in Bangalore were in for a surprise when the Radio City RJs hit the streets with dozens of ‘rakhis’. Rashmi, one of the female auto drivers in Bangalore, couldn’t help smiling, as she joined the Radio City RJs in their auto adventure. Commuters, who often complain of the autowalas’ unfriendly behavior and unfair meter, took a cue from the Radio City RJs and joined in ‘Rickshaw Bandhan’.
The rickshaw-drivers were overwhelmed and as a return gift to Radio City broke out in a loud chorus with ‘FM andre Radio City 91.1 FM’ making this Raksha Bandhan truly memorable.
