Qtrax Announces U.S. Preview of First Free and Legal Music Download Site Licensed by All Major Record Companies and Indies

MUMBAI: For the first time, you can download your favorite songs legally and completely free. Qtrax is introducing a U.S. preview of its new music destination offering free downloads combined with extensive editorial coverage on all bands and artists.

Qtrax www.qtrax.com is now the only legal p2p music service that offers free and fast downloads of millions of songs. Downloads take just a few seconds. Qtrax incorporates branded advertising as a shared revenue stream with labels and artists. The company has signed licensing agreements with all the major labels, music publishers and leading indie titles including Warner Music Group and Warner Music International; EMI Music North America and EMI Publishing; Sony BMG Music Entertainment; and Universal Music Group North America and International.

"Over 95% of all digital music consumption may be illegal. And the legal sites only offer free streaming. Qtrax offers free high quality downloads. Qtrax will monetize all digital plays by sharing advertising revenue and offers a content rich environment that delivers a clearly superior consumer experience to any of the popular pirate sites," said Allan Klepfisz, Qtrax President and CEO.

"Our users will enjoy the seamless player/browser functionality that is an important part of the Qtrax experience, plus the downloads are lightening fast and delivered to your library ready to play. We are very proud of our unique offering and technology and believe our audience will notice these features and benefit from the advantages Qtrax offers," Klepfisz said.

Qtrax is built on an ad supported delivery model that directs revenue back to artists and rightsholders. "We believe artists should be paid for their talent and our goal is to deliver on that promise every time a user listens to a Qtrax song," Klepfisz said.

The company will sell sponsorships and advertising to be displayed during both search and play. Users also will have the option to create playlists and share them with friends, as well as purchase music, tickets and related items via the Qtrax platform, he said.

The company anticipates launching at full capacity with portability to over ten countries internationally in the next month or so, followed by a phased global roll out.
