Based on the poem �THE PHENOMENAL WOMAN' by Maya Angelou, NINE FM sought to celebrate the essence of a woman on International Women's Day. NINE FM being a station which continuously strives to do things differently, aimed at highlighting not women celebrities but faces from the crowd this Women's Day.

NINE FM believes women have reach the zenith in every field that they have ventured into but women who choose to stay at home & nurture their families dexterously are no less than those who head multi-nationals. This women's day NINE FM celebrated the concept of the term �housewife' evolving into �homemaker'.

NINE FM, Siliguri invited some homemakers and women entrepreneurs to the studios to share their experiences with the listeners. Each guest had a treasure of experience to share and very strong points came forth which will help people look at a woman from a different perspective & help understand them better.

NINE FM, Gangtok invited an expert on Human Rights and she explained all the rights each woman can enjoy and should not be deprived of. Paradoxically, in India if there is a Kiran Bedi, foeticide still continues to plague us, so it was imperative to create awareness whilst celebrating the essence of a woman.
