This Friday, a spontaneous and spirited MJ Hrishi K went live and local from Mumbai's life line, the �Local Trains'. The objective being to reach out to the listeners to try to ease their stress as they travel to their work places daily.

As part of the many planned initiatives for 94.3 Radio One, MJ Hrishi K's, the show went live and exclusive from the Churchgate-to-Virar Mumbai local trains and platforms yesterday. MJ Hrishi travelled in the crowded local trains from morning 7 to 11, the peak travel hours, with special radio equipments to broadcast the show live from the moving train.

Sharing his experience of doing the first live show from a Mumbai local train, MJ Hrishi K said,' It was an absolutely amazing to do a live session with the listeners from the local trains! It is unbelievable how Mumbaikars travel by local trains every morning to get to work. It's like a drill… I have travelled by trains in the past but this experience was different. It was really tough sweating it out in rush hour trains especially since I had to get on and off with recording equipment and gears; a mammoth task but fun. Going live from the trains actually created a live listening experience that is unmatched on contemporary radio. I met so many people, had a cup of chai with them, spoke to them, and shared their sorrows and joy. The love that I got from them is something I will always treasure....

Speaking about why he chose the trains to begin with, MJ Hrishi said, I really wanted to be out there and connect with my listeners and one can experience that in this four hour unadulterated broadcast from Mumbai's lifeline... the local train network. Getting on and off trains, holding my listeners hand, sharing a laugh with them and soothing a tear away, and connecting with them in the true sense so was the sole motive for me and 94.3 Radio One....

During his four-hour journey in the local MJ Hrishi K met everyone, from the chaiwala to the stationmaster to cleaners, shared their sorrows and happiness; all with a musical twist. He had a warm chat with the listeners; shared a cup of chai with the �boodhe boot polish vaale chacha'... asked to leave the CCTV room by a station master; autographed a young dabbawala's dabba and got the warmest hug from him as he asked MJ Hrishi K to play some songs for his wife; bought a chaas for themachchee vaali so that they opened their heart out to him. He even shared the sorrow of a senior citizen whose family did not care for her and was en-route to visit her brother. He got a canteen bhaiyyaa who was worried about his singing voice to sing live. The magazine vendor was worried if he spoke clearly, but with a bit of practice the pre-live jitters erased, the sheer magic of going live took them over.

The public embraced MJ Hrishi.K who has none of the trappings of the other so-called successful radio hosts, played to the listeners their favourite song to soothe their blues away and help them get through the hustle and bustle of their daily existence. He dared to go where no radio jockey has gone before; the Mumbai local trains! Only to connect with his morning listeners who fight a daily battle to reach to their works places.
