Mirchi Santas make it a day to remember on Christmas Eve!

MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi made it a Christmas eve to remember as it distributed hundreds of toys among cancer-afflicted children at the Tata Memorial Hospital. The culmination of the â€?Mirchi Santa Cause' campaign, Mirchi RJs dressed up as cheerful Santas, danced and sang on the stage with the children and put a smile on their faces.

Radio Mirchi ran an initiative – Mirchi Santa Cause' where Mirchi listeners were invited to donate gifts like snakes and ladders, scrabble, ludo, jenga, cycles, football, colouring books and crayons and any new and exciting toys! Hundreds of gifts came in from benevolent and good-hearted Mirchi listeners who were eager to make it a festive and delightful season for these children.

The campaign concluded on the Christmas eve when the Mirchi RJs visited Tata Memorial Hospital as Santa Clauses and regaled everyone with their jokes and even danced with the kids to feisty songs like Bam bam bhole'. Distinguished guests like Javed Jaffrey, Priya Dutt and Johnny Lever made it a more memorable event with their presence.

In an effort to spread awareness about paediatric cancer, Radio Mirchi had expert doctors from the hospital on the Mirchi airwaves who spread the message that paediatric cancer is curable. Radio Mirchi and its listeners embodied the true spirit of Christmas with their selfless act on Christmas eve and spread joy among the children by giving innumerable gifts.
