K'NAAN Launches Artist Integration Program with Clear Channel Media and Entertainment

MUMBAI: Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, the leading media company in America with a greater reach than any other radio or television outlet, today announced the launch of its latest Artist Integration partnership with A&M/Octone Records introducing K'NAAN's latest single, "Is Anybody Out There" featuring Nelly Furtado. The Artist Integration Program is designed to increase audience awareness of up-and-coming music projects by leveraging Clear Channel's powerful properties through on-air and online promotional campaigns.

Clear Channel will partner with A&M/Octone Records for a two week-long on-air/online Artist Integration campaign beginning Jan. 30 to launch K'NAAN's latest single "Is Anybody Out There" featuring Nelly Furtado from his new album Country, God Or The Girl. The program will include a series of on-air artist profile spots that will run across Clear Channel's Contemporary Hit Radio (CHR) and HOT Adult Contemporary (AC) stations nationwide. The campaign will drive listeners to download the single at iTunes, and direct fans to local station websites where they can find more information about K'NAAN. As part of the Artist Integration Program, one winner and guest will receive a trip to Barbados to meet K'NAAN and see him and Nelly Furtado perform live. Other elements of the campaign will include an exclusive interview with K'NAAN, custom artist pages, banner ads and online promotions with direct links to iTunes, where listeners can purchase the album.

"One of the most exciting things about the Artist Integration Program is that it allows us to stimulate projects for up-and-coming artists as well as established icons," said Tom Poleman, President of Clear Channel National Programming Platforms. "At our Music Summit last fall, our Clear Channel Program Directors fell in love with K'NAAN's new project. We're excited to jump-start what's sure to be K'NAAN's breakout year."

"We are thrilled to partner with Clear Channel to introduce K'NAAN to new audiences across the country. The Artist Integration Program has rapidly become one of the music industry's most important vehicles to launch new artists," said Ben Berkman, Executive Vice President and Head of Promotion A&M/Octone Records. "K'NAAN achieved great international acclaim with the worldwide success of his single "Wavin' Flag," and with Clear Channel's powerful platforms now behind him, we have a special opportunity to break K'NAAN's music in the U.S."
