JUKE, the New Cloud-Based Music Service, Streams into Austria with Support from Retail Partners, Saturn and Media-Markt

MUMBAI: Today, the music streaming platform JUKE went live in Austria, it's second European market, following the German launch in September this year. JUKE is a consumer branch of 24-7 Entertainment GmbH, Europe's leading B2B service provider for digital music and subsidiary of Europe's number one electronics and entertainment retail group Media-Saturn.

JUKE provides 15 million tracks from 80,000 labels (including all of the majors), in Dolby(R) Pulse, an unrivalled audio quality. Jukers can access their favourite music for a flatrate of EUR9,99 per month via numerous devices including smartphones (Android Os and iPhone Os), PCs, Macs and the Sonos Wireless Hi Fi systems. All devices are automatically synched so favourites and playlists, which are part of the "My JUKE" section, are always up-to-date and moreover, available offline via the mobile app.

Subscribers can set up individual playlists without the need for additional software or installation of a player or alternatively, they can use JUKE "Mixtapes", preloaded playlists available in various themes.

Through the Sonos Wireless HiFi Systems, JUKE can be streamed wirelessly into any room at home. "With Juke we have an important new partner.", says Andreas Rapp, Sonos Regional Director Central Europe. "The integration of the streaming service with the Sonos Wireless HiFi System, leads us closer to our vision of providing users the ability to listen to every song in the world from any room in their house." "We are very happy to be able to present this extraordinary musical experience to our Austrian fans."

Sonos wireless HiFi systems can play songs from the user's music library, as well as more than 100,000 radio stations and podcasts - and can be controlled by Android, iPhone and iPad devices

JUKE provides high quality audio through Dolby Pulse, and is the first music platform in Europe to offer such a Dolby branded service. Dolby Pulse is an optimized and efficient audio codec developed for PCs and mobile devices, and ensures reliable delivery over any network. It offers rich stereo sound at low bit rates, which means smaller file sizes and faster, more reliable media streaming - especially in situations where bandwidth may fluctuate.

Mike Nielsen, a leading music producer and sound engineer for Jamiroquai and Underworld among others, said: "We work hard with artists in the studio to capture the essence and quality of their performances and with any delivery format you want to try to replicate that performance as faithfully as possible. I think Dolby Pulse does a great job of maintaining the integrity of the artist's original work, while ensuring it can be delivered as efficiently as possible to the place where so many people enjoy their music most these days, on-the-go."

Jukers are saying goodbye to MP3-Players, CDs and large storage spaces and hello to a new and easy way to access music. "The introduction of cloud based streaming services simplifies the music experience, making it accessible when, where and how you want it.", says Frank Taubert, CEO & Co-Founder, 24-7 Entertainment. "JUKE is incredibly user friendly and therefore will appeal to all demographics without alienating those traditionally wary of technology." "The launch of JUKE in Austria is a very exciting development and the next milestone in our European roll-out plans.

"Not only does Saturn offer the hottest technology, but its innovative ideas are always cutting edge. We like to continue to surprise our customers with our products and offers and impress them with the trendiest gadgets. Therefore, it was a no-brainer for us to be a launch partner of JUKE", adds Frank Kretzschmar, CEO, Saturn Austria.
