MUMBAI: iApps have given Perth (Australia) radio station, 91.3 SportFM the resources to broadcast mobile and global, with the delivery of a customised iPhone app.

Sunshine Coast based software developer iApps worked with Western Sports Media to develop the app that has just been released into the iTunes App Store.

The app allows 91.3 SportFM to stream live FM radio around the globe. Sports fans can download the app from the iTunes App Store to their iPhone and listen to their favourite station anywhere (provided there is access to Wifi or Bluetooth).

Station Manager, Jason Dattilo said the team at 91.3 SportFM were thrilled about launching the iPhone app. We have a had a number of listeners request an iPhone app for quite a while and now we have the opportunity to give our listeners a chance to listen to SportFM wherever they may be around the world....

The primary aim of Western Sports Media is to provide an outlet for sports that don't receive the exposure they deserve, or that receive limited coverage from commercial media. This app will allow for global reach of this unique coverage.

The app has the ability to run in the background while the user is engaging other functions, allowing the station to benefit from constant streaming and complete user responsiveness.

iApps has written into the app the opportunity for 91.3 Sport FM to create a revenue stream by offering advertising space to selected clients. The audience has the ability to direct dial straight through to the advertisers from within the app.
