HIT 95 FM exclusively ties up with 'The South Asian Bands Festival' from Dec 11 to Dec 13 At Purana Qila, Delhi

MUMBAI: South Asian Bands Festival, organized every year by the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India and SEHER, is one of the biggest ever festival seen in Delhi . It is put together every year, at a large scale with a purpose to make the youth aware and indeed take pride in the South Asian Region. This festival brings the freshest talent to India from its neighboring countries.

South Asian Bands Festival was first held in 2007 when India was the chair of SAARC – the festival was organized by SEHER in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs. In the first year the festival invited popular bands from South Asian Countries – like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka amongst others.

With the enormous success of the â€?SAARC Bands Festival' conceived and designed by SEHER  for the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in 2007 and subsequently at the heritage site of the magnificent Purana Qila , the Govt of India has decided to make it into an annual feature. This festival has become one of Delhi's most popular Cultural events and attracts over 30,000 people every time it is held.

The South Asian Bands Festival this year once again will be a three-day festival, showcasing bands presenting various genres of music. Yet again, the leading bands from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh,Myanmar, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka will perform at the Purana Qila 

Manjot Chawla, SEHER spokesperson, We believe that Culture and music binds people of different faith religion and race and when people from different regions come on a single platform and perform – it binds people together. This Festival aims to attract the youth of Delhi in very large numbers...

This year's lineup includes Strings, Avial, Pentagram, Shankar Ehsaan and Loy, Raghu Dixit Project among other south asian artists.

According to Mr. Shyam Kumar Singh, Station Manager, HIT 95 FM in Delhi, HIT 95 FM has always given Delhi, differentiated and unique music offerings creating diversity in International music.
