Harman announces the 'JBL Sound Scholarship' for AR Rahman's Premier Music Institute

MUMBAI: HARMAN, the premium global audio and infotainment group, today announced that it has awarded a 'JBL Sound Scholarship' to the K.M. Music Conservatory (KMMC), a school of music and music technology based in Chennai. The scholarship will facilitate hiring international-level faculty for the KMMC Strings' Programme, thereby securing the most accomplished experts to train KMMC students.

The school was founded by internationally renowned music maestro A. R. Rahman in April 2008 and is the very first musical institution of its kind in India. KMMC provides training in Western techniques of performance, composition and musical technology. Additionally, the school also offers advanced training in classical Indian performance and history.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Anand Ramamoorthy, Managing Director of HARMAN (India) said, "Harman is honored to be associated with the K. M. Music Conservatory as we believe the school provides an ideal opportunity for budding music talent in our country to scale new heights.
