MUMBAI : The launch of upcoming Bollywood film 'Happy New Year' starring Shah Rukh Khan with other members of the cast and crew including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, Jackie Shroff, Vivaan Shah, Vishal-Shekhar was very special in ways more than one.

The launch took place on August 14 at the Sapphire Ballroom, Sahara Star and was put together by Cineyug and Red Chillies Entertainment with SOUND.COM taking care of the audio.

The launch not only had the screening of the movie's trailer but it was followed by a performance by Vishal-Shekhar a song from the film and media interactions as well. This indeed made the event multi-dimensional with many facets to the delivery.

The event saw an amalgamation of 5.1 surround sound and audio production for an event both being implemented on the same scale using different dynamics by SOUND.COM.

For getting the required output during the trailer launch, SOUND.COM had to use a very different set-up essentially in the format of cinema sound. This included: The DiGiCo SD 10 Console, Vertec 4888, Vertec 4880A and VRX 932 powered by Crown amplifiers.

Explaining how the show was a series of 'firsts' for everyone, Mohomed Morani, director, Cineyug Entertainment said, "We have worked with SOUND.COM for many shows and this is not the first time that we hired them for a job. However, it was the first times that both of us were using 5.1 surround sound and event sound in the same venue for one show. But importantly, everyone had a fantastic experience and the show ended on a successful note. We hope that our association continues and that we come up with more challenging formats to accomplish."

Warren D'souza MD SOUND.COM elucidated saying, "We are happy that the show concluded successfully and that our client is happy with the delivery. We hope that more challenging jobs come our way and we accomplish them all with ease."

Ranjeet Singh, System and Mix engineer, SOUND.COM, who helmed the event, throws light saying, "The Happy New Year trailer launch for the media was a typical press conference; Cineyug and Red Chillies Entertainment showed great faith in us as we are the only sound rental company that has handled a surround sound project in the past. I am glad that we gave excellent sonic output for the show."
