Get lucky Vh1 is back with Vh1 ShotByU contest

MUMBAI: Vh1 is back with Vh1 ShotByU, a contest that gives music lovers an opportunity to feature their entries in a video of their favourite artist. After Pentagram, Scorpions, Bryan Adams and SuperHeavy this year Vh1 ShotByU contest gives fans a chance to be a part of the international music rage Daft Punk’s music video Get Lucky. Presented by Zomato, the entries for the contest open from 30 July, 2013.

Daft Punk, a French electronic music duo, consists of musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. Known for their visual elements and effects incorporated in their music, Daft Punk is most famous for their ornate robot costumes. Through this contest, fans get a once in a lifetime opportunity to shoot a video for the Band’s– popular track Get Lucky ft. Pharrell Williams from the album Random Access Memories.

Speaking about the contest, English entertainment, Viacom18 pvt ltd Sr vice president and general manager Ferzad Palia says “We are very excited to bring the ShotByU contest again this year as we believe this is one of the best initiatives by Vh1 which involves music lovers to showcase their talent. Daft Punk enjoys a huge fan following in India and being a part of their music video is every fan’s dream. We are hoping to receive many innovative, unique and quirky videos to create an awesome video for their track.”

An interesting concept, the ShotByU contest by Vh1 will urge fans to participate by sending entries on any of the following - Robot Rock impression, a Daft Punk Cosplay or whatever ‘Get Lucky’ means to them. Fans can send their entries to www.vh1.in/shotbyu and upload the videos. Vh1 will then shortlist the entries and the lucky winners’ entries will feature in the video made by Vh1 India. The video will also be showcased on the Vh1’s official Facebook and Twitter pages and also on YouTube.
