FM stations celebrate Christmas across India

MUMBAI: Christmas is the celebration of life.This day we commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ by spreading the message of love and forgiveness.

Radio Choklate celebrated this Holy festival in its unique way of spreading love by airing warm Christmas Greetings to its Choklate friends right from 24th December.On Christmas eve i.e,24th midnight,outdoor RJs from Bhubaneshwar,Cuttack,Kharagpur and Bangalore gave live updates from various churches.
And can Christmas be celebrated without Santa?So,Radio Choklate also had an incredible Choklate Santa,who came once in every show throughout the day and gave gifts and advices to each RJ on Radio Choklate.Even the RJs couldn't hide their excitement on seeing Cholate Santa.

Not only on Radio Choklate but also off it,Choklate Santa went to various places in Bhubaneshwar and Cuttack like colleges such as BJB College,RD college,Utkal University,Christ College,etc public places such as Rajmahal,Badambadi,BigBazar etc.Choklate Santa roamed about the streets and distributed cakes,choklates and gifts.Wherever Choklate Santa went,immense crowd gathered.The RJ interacted through phone with the crowd wherever Choklate Santa went.The crowd was excited and happy,especially the kids.

The response was tremondous and Radio Choklate is proud to have been able to celebrate this festival in such a unique way and with the number of smiles we got it seems an effort worth it.And this yet again comes to show that Radio Choklate 104FM is indisputably Orissa's Apna No.1.

Radio Dhamaal celebrated Christmas with underprivileged children in Hisar and Ranchi. Dhamaal RJs along with the Santa Claus visited NGOs looking after such children, with bags full of goodies.

Christmas carols, hollies, plum cakes, balloons and special gifts made this day memorable for the children. Santa distributed sweets, toys, books, candies etc to all.He involved them with carol singing, story telling and lots of fun games.

Listeners had also sent invitations for Dhamaal Santa to visit their homes. Santa also visited few lucky addresses and celebrated Christmas with gaiety.

Ahmedabad's Radio City 91.1FM 'Whatte Fun' Cheer Brigade added an extra dash of fun and excitement in the lives of Ahmedabad's Radio Cityzens. Listeners in the city were in for a delight as their favourite RJ's - RJ Suraj (The Radio City Breakfast Show), RJ Rina (City Spice), RJ Nicky (Hum Tum) and RJ Shirley (Joyride) spent the day paying them a surprise visit along with the Radio City team in tow! The RJs spent quality time with the listeners, meeting their friends and relatives and playing exciting contests with them. The excitement was relayed across Ahmedabad city through LIVE broadcasts from the listeners' houses.

On December 25th, the Radio City 'Whatte Fun' Cheer Brigade patrolled across Ahmedabad city to give a grand surprise to loyal Radio Cityzens. Amidst fun games and contests, the listeners got to spend time with their favourite Radio City RJs and won exclusive goodies from Radio City. The RJs visited listeners from Memnagar, Ghatlodia, Bodakdev, Salpara and Satellite area among others.

Basis listener feedback via sms, emails to RJs, call-ins and requests for song dedications from listeners, Radio City identified select listeners who've been great fans of the FM station and the RJs. As a festive special, Radio City RJs visited them much to their surprise and delight!

Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, India's hottest radio station plays Santa Claus this Christmas, making the celebrations truly unforgettable for Lucknowites, as they were seen zealously participating in the 'Moja hi Moja' contest.

On Christmas Day, December 25, Radio Mirchi listeners were spotted at the Vodafone store at the East End Mall, with their longest wearable socks. As a part of the activity, gift items were lined up at the location with price tags. Contestants in groups of ten had to hunt for the hidden gifts in the Vodafone store premises and then fill their socks with these gifts within 2 minutes each. The person who managed to fill in prizes of highest worth within each group got shopping vouchers & other attractive prizes courtesy Radio Mirchi. The activity was carried out in full enthusiasm right through the day, with over three winners taking home lots of gifts.

The on air promotions for the Moja hi Moja' contest started early this week where RJ's were heard informing Lucknowites about the initiative and the participation details. Early this January under the aegis of 'Mirchi Cares' Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM will be starting another activity for the under privileged. Through this initiative, the station will urge its listeners to donate different things for the needy and poor. The collections will be donated to an orphanage.

BIG 92.7 FM the largest FM network in India, organised a Christmas bash especially for the listeners. The party included an array of fun filled party games like shooting balloons, ramp walk, breaking the balloon contest, a competition for designing clothes with news papers, singing and dancing competition and a lot more events hosted by RJ YO YO. The RJs of Chennai station interacted with all the enthusiastic listeners and played games. The winners of the games were gifted BIG 92.7 FM goodies.
