Fever 104 FM makes Dussera even more special this year for Bengalurueans

MUMBAI: Dussera celebrations in Karnataka have a unique tradition called Bombeattavaya', where people display dolls. These dolls resemble Gods and Goddesses, animals or other elements of nature and often depict various events from the Mahabharata and Ramayana.

In keeping with this tradition, Fever 104 FM invites its listeners to participate in the best doll display contest in the city. Registrations were invited from 4th Oct – 13th Oct. The Fever jocks have been visiting listener homes daily and judging their displays. Each listener wins a gift voucher when visited by a Fever jock. One grand winner will be chosen and will have a chance to meet the cast of the movie Gaana Bajaana starring Tarun Chandra and Dilip Raj. They will personally visit the winning listener's house on 16th Oct, 2010 along with a Fever jock and a specially arranged Dollu Kunitha band. The winning listener will also receive a voucher of Rs. 5000/-.

S Keerthivasan, Business Head, Fever 104 FM, adds, The tradition of Bombeattavaya is very special to the Dussera celebrations in the South. We wanted to do something to encourage this custom and what we have witnessed as displays at listeners homes has truly been splendid. We are very glad that we have used our medium of radio to take a part of our culture forward through this activity. We, at Fever 104 FM, wish the city of Bengaluru a very Happy Dussera!...
