Doug Frank, Former President of Music Operations, Warner Pictures Joins Mind Technologies, Inc.

MUMBAI: Mind Technologies, Inc., a leader in thought controlled technologies, announced today that a new member has joined the Company's Brain Trust for Medicine and Technology.

Doug Frank is the former President of Music Operations, Warner Pictures who supervised the music on the Batman, Harry Potter, Lethal Weapon and Matrix series, as well as on such feature films as "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "City of Angels", "Space Jam", and more recently on the Academy Award-winning "Happy Feet" and "The Departed", as well as the blockbusters "300", "The Dark Knight" and "Sherlock Holmes"  Currently, Frank serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) and was selected to join the Board of Directors of MusiCares  He is also working with Celine Dion on her new Las Vegas show, scheduled to open on March 15, 2011.

Working with Warner Bros. Animation in the mid-'90s gave Frank the opportunity to contribute to the Studio's great history of animation and animation scores  Under his direction, composers hired for the company's animation projects consistently won Emmy Awards for series including "Animaniacs", "Batman", "Superman", and "Tiny Toon Adventures".

Frank began his musical career as a studio musician, following a formal education in music at Brooklyn College  He has composed scores for television and co-wrote the musical "Marilyn: An American Fable", which ran on Broadway in 1983  He is also a successful songwriter whose songs have been recorded by many artists including Dionne Warwick and Placido Domingo.

"I am thrilled and honored to be joining Mind Technologies Inc., in their quest to be the leader in the cutting edge technology that resides at the intersection of music, medicine, science and technology  It's a tremendous opportunity," said Frank.

Dr. Chiu comments, "Is music food for the soul?  Famous playwright Shakespeare once said, 'If music be the food of love; play on.'  Scientists have long discovered that music has significant effects on the brain  In 1993, Rauscher, Shaw, and Ky investigated the effect of listening to music by Mozart on spatial reasoning, and the results were published in Nature  The development of applications in medicine and technology towards learning, parenting, sports as well as therapy for vast chronic disorders (i.e. insomnia, Alzheimer Disease, anger management) are substantial and needed public health alternatives

In studying EEG, brain, and music, we have found remarkable correlations that can repeatedly generate experiences such as nostalgia, happiness and sadness  But research and clinical evidence aside, Doug has lived a successful career in the music and entertainment industry  His insights are an invaluable asset to the Brain Trust including producing expansive applications and even self-help consumer products."

Brent Fouch, President of Mind Technologies Inc., stated, "We've come very far in our understanding of brain computer interface technologies thanks to the leadership of Dr. Gordon Chiu and the quality of the members in the Brain Trust  Today's addition of a legendary talent like Doug Frank is indicative that Mind Technologies Inc's potential value and assets are increasingly attractive within top industries."
