MUMBAI: The third day of Cinema 100 - a three day mega event organized by the alumni and students of Whistling Woods International was a huge success with over 1000 participants. The closing ceremony had the timeless beauty and the quintessential dream girl, Hema Malini pouring her heart out to the audience on the journey of dance in Indian films and also renowned music director, Anu Malik sang his favorite songs that enthralled the packed auditorium.
The third day began with renowned film maker and critic Khalid Mohammad sharing his views on ‘the social impact of Indian cinema’ and showcasing a documentary made by the maestro himself. He delved in to recent developments on the social media that have completely changed the face of Indian cinema.
A thought provoking and insightful panel discussion on the vision for ‘Cinema 2020’ was moderated by the well-known entertainment correspondent Rajeev Masand. The panel included ad film maker and Hindi film director R. Balakrishnan (popularly known as R. Balki), Hindi screenwriter and director Habib Faisal, Indian film director and cinematographer Rohit Shetty and screenwriter, actor, and director Amole Gupte. They all spoke on how far they think Indian cinema has come till now and where they think it will go in the years to come.
Hema Malini, the dream girl, had an enthusiastic response after touring the institute and watching the Cinema100 A/V shared by Subhash Ghai and the students she said, “You are lucky to have such a wonderful ground and a beautiful institution. There should be an institute like this where all forms of art are taught. So many filmmakers came and went but no one has ever thought of doing this except for Subhashji.” While interacting with the gathering she shared her personal experiences and her dance journey in the Indian cinema.

Cinema100 over three days celebrated Indian Cinema and its various facets through numerous workshops and chat sessions with Industry stalwarts. The festival consisted of film screenings, workshops on acting, photography, cinematography, dance, poetry, music, 3D film making, VFX, screenplay writing, as well as marketing of films and much more.
This three day film festival saw the likes of A. R.
