MUMBAI: This Republic Day, BIG 92.7 FM captures the spirit of patriotism and hosts a unique property called the Republic Day Musical Parade, calling people from across the country the come together, showcase their patriotism and salute the spirit of being Indian…the musical way!

As part of its Republic Day Musical Parade, the Stations of BIG FM invite listeners from various localities across the cities to express their patriotism in the form of patriotic songs. Challenging the creativity of listeners, they are invited to also send in self written / composed songs. BIG FM will feature the compositions on air.

Apart from this, the Station's outdoor broadcasting teams will be hosting live links with people ranging from singer groups, corporates,  schools and colleges, theatre groups, housing localities and many more – touching millions of people across the country and getting them to sing patriotic songs together as a group, thus imbibing one-ness and pride of being an Indian. The sing-song will culminate with the groups singing the Vande Mataram together. To ensure high aspirational quotient, eminent singers will also be heard crooning patriotic songs along with listeners. Listeners who would like to be featured on air can invite the jock to cover their locality or group by sms-ing their requests to 55454.

As a reflection of the true vibe of the city, the stations will also cover parades, flag hoisting events and visit places across cities interacting with listeners and spreading the feeling of patriotism. Through its offerings, BIG 92.7 FM will bring out the patriotic fervor of the people, bringing the entire country together even in its diversity. Apart from the musical parade, stations across the country are hosting interesting properties spreading the spirit of patriotism…

The Mumbai Station will bring the city together and celebrate their patriotism on air. RJ's will be visiting various touch-points in the city and singing along with the public, putting together interesting bytes on air for their property BIG ke saath Republic Day Manaega, Mumbai dil khol ke gayega. Flagging off the musical parade will be actress Amrita Rao who will sing along with listeners and kids from her school.

BIG 92.7 FM's Delhi Station will flag off its �Happy Parade' with singer Mohit Chauhan and the Manchale Band who will jam with listeners, making Republic Day fun and musical. RJ's will be visiting hangouts across the city and getting interesting happy takes of listeners…in musical style.

BIG FM Kolkata is ensuring unlimited entertainment given the long weekend and hence inviting listeners to enjoy BIG-er sathe chhuti'r moja (enjoy your holidays with BIG FM). Apart from the exciting programming line up, Kolkatans will sing patriotic songs, and the best will be selected for a sing-song in the studio with BIG RJ Khas Koushik & noted singer Sivaji Chatterjee along with rising Tollywood star Hiron

The Chennai Station, capturing the spirit of Republic Day has come conceptualized an innovative on-air and on-ground concept called �BIG Isai Payanam' which will focus on inviting listeners from different localities to express their patriotic feelings through patriotic songs and just like the republic parade, BIG 92.7 FM will feature these songs on – air on continuous basis on 26th January 2009.

BIG FM in Bangalore is hosting noted Kannada celebrities like Guru Kiran (Music Director) & Singers M.D Pallavi & Shamita Malnad at their studios for a special Republic Day sing song session along with listeners. The group will be singing various patriotic songs to celebrate our Republic Day and give out special messages on-air.

The Hyderabad Station while hosting the musical parade is going to have the musical bus – a bus which is going to be a true symbolic representation of the patriotic fervor among people. It will hence be reverberating with music, musical instruments all around the bus, will highlight martyrs who gave up their life for the country and will also have a BIG message board for people to pen down the message that they would like to spread amongst the people of the city. The interiors will have patriotic music based film pictures and posters.

BIG FM Indore has a more serious agenda – that of spreading flag code awareness. The station will be simplifying these guidelines and informing listeners on how he can give respect and honour one �One India' identity by hoisting it in respectful manner. Bytes of famous flag activist and MP Mr. Navin Jindal will also be played on air. In his personal interaction with BIG, Mr. Navin Jindal will also share valuable information related to the national flag.

BIG FM's Kanpur and Allahabad stations is getting together students from across schools to draw out the India map using saplings which will carry a message against global warming and the need for greener and cleaner environment. The Stations will also host a signature campaign, inviting listeners to put forth their requirements for the country.

The Jammu station is hosting a very innovative â€?Anti-Terror' signature campaign this republic day along with on-air integration in which listeners will be given an opportunity to air their patriotic wishes  BIG RJs will lead the signature campaign.

Agra, Bareilly, Kota & Aligarh stations are launching a patriotic â€?Signature Campaign'  The campaign will run for three day starting from 24 Jan and will conclude at the Republic Day celebrations with the local city police. The last signature will be by the SSP / DGM of the city and the entire board will be handed over to the police department.

BIG FM Udaipur has a campaign aptly titled – �Mujhe Garv Hai', in which listeners are given an opportunity to salute their nation by singing patriotic songs on –air. A Signature Campaign will be erected at a key junction where listeners, civic authorities & other dignitaries will come forward to pen down their patriotic thoughts.
