MUMBAI: BIG 92.7 FM, Delhi’s only Chillaxed HIT Station, has joined hands with Goonj, to launch Delhi’s biggest warm-clothes collection drive! With the winter chill having set in and especially so in northern India, BIG 92.7 FM India’s No. 1 FM Station, is enabling apni Dilli to donate clothes and blankets for the needy. The drive, aptly titled ‘DariyaDilli’ and in line with World Kindness Week, will be engaging the people of Delhi through various touch-points and helping them reach out to the needy. The Station will also collect money, with a ‘Rs 1 Collection Drive’, aligning with this campaign. The campaign which got launched on 9 November will span till 28 November 2009.
This offering from BIG 92.7 FM, is yet another Life Banao initiative to help the needy face the winter chill. BIG FM will be mobilizing all the its resources to collect maximum amount of warm-clothes and blankets and contribute the same to its NGO Partner – Goonj.
The stations will activate various touch points through which people can contribute their clothing and blankets. Along with the employees of BIG 92.7 FM being greatly involved in this initiative and hence donating generously, the Stations will be engaging several corporate houses, malls and markets to render support for the noble initiative. BIG FM will also give away ‘I AM A DARIYADIL’ badge in exchange of Rs 1, to collect money for the cause.
‘DariyaDilli’ campaign has been divided into various phases, the same are being mentioned below:
Phase 1: 9 – 19 November: Mainly on-air, this phase will enable listeners to bid for a song and contribute their woolen clothes in exchange of the same. The highest bidder for a song will get an opportunity to dedicate the song in his/her voice to the people of Delhi. The Bidders can be individuals, societies or a corporate entity.
Phase 2: 19 – 27 November: This phase will be primarily for RJ Service Auction - Each RJ on BIG 92.7 FM takes up a cause and pledges to raise a certain sum of Money for the cause. Each RJ would have a set of services that would provide to earn the money E.G Guitar Lessons from Aparshakti , Dancing Lessons from Richa etc. Listeners can bid for the services and thus contribute to the Drive to Keep Dilli Warm and Chillax in the heart.
Other than the on-air promotion, the station has also launched great on-ground activation which will be spread across Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), Corporate Offices, Petrol Pumps, Malls and Other Alliances. BIG FM over a stretch of 10 days will cover almost 60 RWAs and will collect warm clothes from door-to-door. The ‘Rs 1 Collection’ will also be done at the RWAs. The highest contributor from each RWA will get an opportunity go on-air with BIG FM RJs. BIG FM team will also visit various corporate offices and collect money as well as clothes from the employees. Petrol Pumps and other alliance outlets will also enable people contribute clothes and money. All the prominent Malls of the city will set up collection centres and partner for this cause.
Grand Finale – 28 November 2009: On the Grand Finale, BIG FM will set up the longest Clothes-line in the city and will hang all the clothes contributed by the Delhi-ites in this fortnightly campaign.. With this initiative, apni Dilli is all set to create a LIMCA Record by setting up the longest clothes line. People can also be a part of this activity by coming forward and hanging the clothes on the clothes-line.
People can also come forward and sms their names & number to 55454 to contribute their woolens.
