MUMBAI: The umbrellas are ready, the raincoats are out from the closet as Mumbai experiences the much awaited rains. As the season goes magical each day, Big 92.7 FM not only promises to offer supreme and incomparable entertainment but takes up the ownership of providing valuable information to its listeners. To stay true its commitment, Big 92.7 FM welcomes the season in true Mumbaiya spirit by appointing Big Mumbai- kars across all locations of the city.

To guarantee safer monsoons, Big 92.7 FM has announced on-air and on-ground initiatives for its listeners in Mumbai. In support of the station’s initiative,various Municipal & private organizations have come forward to participate in ensuring that Mumbaikar’s are safe and well informed this season. Big 92.7 FM with the help of BMC, BEST, Traffic police, Railways, Netwinks, 1298 and TOPSLINE Security service will provide information like latest update on flooded areas, weather updates, traffic updates, emergency numbers etc. which could be critical during heavy rainfall.

Ensuring the local connect with the citizens of Mumbai, Big 92.7 FM has invited citizens of Mumbai to register themselves as Big Mumbai-Kars. These Big Mumbai-Kars will represent their area as a Monsoon Reporter and will help fellow citizens to be updated on Monsoon situation in their localities. Singer Kavita Krishnamurthy together with her husband, the Violin maestro, L. Balasubraminiam has also registered themselves as Big Mumbai-Kars.

Mr. S.S.Shinde, Joint Municipal Commissioner  - Disaster Management at BMC, echoed the sentiments saying, “As a government undertaking purely for the benefit and service of the citizens of Mumbai, we at BMC will be delighted to provide all the required assistance and updates. We also wish to offer emergency measures incase of any crisis, which can help Mumbaikars.”
