Big 92.7 FM celebrates World Cancer Day

MUMBAI: This World Cancer Day RJ Archana Jani, the breakfast jock on BIG 92.7 FM's Mumbai Station, in keeping with the promise of Suno Sunao Life Banao, made the day extraordinary for kids (cancer affected) who expressed their interest in learning dance. The Jock surprised the kids with ace choreographer / director Farah Khan, who burst into a spontaneous jig with the kids and Archana, as soon as the music was turned on.

The kids, danced with RJ Archana and Farah Khan on some tub thumping numbers like Dard-e-disco' and hit songs from Billu Barber. So much fun was the interaction that on-lookers too joined in the revelry and fun and shook a leg. The kids had a wonderful time, and the day was special not just for them but also for RJ Archana and Farah who was pleasantly surprised to see their enthusiasm and zest for life!

Speaking on her interaction with the kids, RJ Archana Jani, Breakfast Jock on BIG 92.7 FM said, Spending time with the kids was just so wonderful! Just being able to make the kids laugh and have a great time makes me realize the simple fun things in life that we miss out on. As a radio station we want to touch people's lives, be their companion and make them happy. Today was a special day, the kids were so full of energy and Farah was just so easy with the kids. I look forward to doing much more fun stuff with listeners, both on and off air....

BIG 92.7 FM, Bangalore, in its continued efforts to contribute to the society and impact listeners lives in a positive manner, celebrated World Cancer Day' with a difference. With an aim to spread awareness about cancer prevention, the station initiated an on-air and on-ground activity. They spoke about various methods of preventing this deadly disease and also interacted with cancer patients and prominent doctors across the city.

As part of the station's on-ground activity, BIG FM's RJ Rohith visited a Bangalore Hospice Trust called Karunashraya' located on the outskirts. This centre spread provides in-patient care for over 35 terminal cancer patients. RJ Rohith brought some cheer to these patients by entertaining them with his popular pranks. He even got a few of them to sing their favourite tunes. Special song requests and dedications made by these patients were also catered to.

BIG 92.7 FM's RJ Rohith says This experience has renewed my sense of commitment towards society. Interacting with the patients was a reality check. On World Cancer Day, these are the kind of people we can look to as role models. People who are so uncertain of their future and yet to so happy and cheerful in their outlook to life....
