Amul Chhote Ustaad to celebrate Friendship Day

MUMBAI: This friendship's day is special in so many ways! Not only have the Indian and Pakistani kids found new friends in each other and are celebrating this friendship but also their families are bonding with each other like best of friends. It's heartening to know that the families residing on both the sides of the border are praying for the same teams. When one of this team of two children; one from India and one from Pakistan will sing, Yaari Hai Imaan Mera Yaar meri Zindagi, this immortal song will take a different high. To some of you it will give hope like an azaan will and to some it will lend solace like the bells in the temple.

This Dosti ki Masti continued through this week on Amul Chhote Ustaad. After last week's performances when judges formed 10 formidable teams of 1 Indian and 1 Pakistani kid each, all equations changed for the 20 kids who had already started making their own teams with their favorite performer from the other side. These children, over the last week, have practiced and made fresh beginnings with their new counterparts and are ready to perform their first song in front of the Judges Sonu Niigaam and Ustaad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and guest judge for the second week Kunal Ganjawala who is also Sonu's childhood buddy.

As per the new format, each team will sing one solo and one duet song on Saturday and Sunday each week to impress the judges and score high points. The highest scorer from the Saturday's performance gets a bonus of two points and thus gets advantage for the Sunday episode where cumulative scores decide the eliminations.

The first week of the show will see some soulful singing and clever remarks by the judges. On Saturday, the audiences get a musical treat with Moon performing solo on Surile Ankhiyonwale, originally sung by Ustaad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shyamantan and Rose singing the divine Bol Halke Halke by Rahat, Mayuri singing a solo song Zoobi Doobi, originally sung by Sonu Niigaam. While Bhanu and Ahsan will perform a duet Mann Banwara, Ansh sings a solo song Saathiya. Satinder and Shahid sing together on Jag Soona Soona lage and Debanjana and Faisal will follow them with a duet Tere Haath Mein, Dipan sings Jiya Dhadak Dhadak and Shamantan and Fahad dazzles with Bijuria. This musical journey will be interspersed by some comic antics of the hosts Omi Vaidya and Chinmayi Sripada who are the children's favorite on the show.

On Sunday, the musical journey will get difficult with one elimination awaiting the performers at the end of ten songs and one team returning home with some shattered dreams yet taking back some fond memories whilst their stay with Amul Chhote Ustaad. One journey might end on Sunday, but the journey that Amul Chhote Ustaad has embarked on is a long one; one that will only bring together the most gifted singing talent to the fore and binds the two nations by music. As Rahat Sahab rightly puts it, "The musicians from both the countries together can change the face of the world''. Well Amul Chhote Ustaad is the founding stone of that landmark dream!
