Actor Sachin releases music of Kishori Shahane Vij's 'Aika Dajiba'

MUMBAI: Actress turned producer Kishori Shahane Vij's Marathi movie Aika Dajiba's music was released amidst much fanfare by actor Sachin on Thursday, 29th July. The movie also marks the Marathi film directorial debut of Deepak Balraj Vij (of Hafta Bandh, Jaan Tere Naam, Sailaab and soon-to-be-released Maalik Ek fame). Present on the occasion were the star cast of the movie consisting of legendary Marathi actor Ashok Saraf, actress Mukta Barve, Priya Bapat, Prasad Oak, Andy Balraj and Shakti Kapoor. Others inlcuded singers Swapnil Bandodkar, Jhanvi and music composer Avdhoot Gupte along with writer Ashok Patole, Govind Kakadia (Kiah Diamonds-Presenter), Distributor Rajesh Thadani (incidentally his first Marathi movie too - he has distributed Race, Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani etc) and Bobby Vij. Kishori Shahane Vij along with a couple of dancers performed a live lavani dance  much to the delight of the audience. Kishori performed in the traditional nine-yard Navvari saree to the lavani number in the movie "Dilli Ki Baat Karu Nako" choreographed by Fulva Kamkar.

Ashok Saraf said that he had a lot of fun working with a Punjabi director in a Marathi movie and was impressed with Deepak's   knowledge of his craft. He said the movie talks about national integration and should be watched by all Maharashtrians. He has also lent his voice for an abhang in the movie called 'Othanchi Boli'.

Shakti Kapoor credited the success of Deepak Balraj Vij in his career to his Maharashtrian wife Kishori. He said his life was also saved because he married a Maharashtrian and he had advised Deepak to marry a Maharashtrian if he wanted to be successful in life.

Actor Sachin said he was very impressed with the rushes of the movie and couldn't wait to watch the movie. The recent trend of Marathi movies being appreciated the world over and even being nominated for Oscars is very healthy and will help inject a fresh enthusiasm into the Marathi industry.
