MUMBAI: Get ready to rock & roll  this weekend as NewsX brings an exceptional musical treat  for its viewers !  The musical extravaganza titled â€?India Rocks' will showcase some of the hottest bands and musical acts on the circuit. This special show seeks to bring to limelight, the vibrant live music scene that exists in India today and which transcends and breaks a lot of barriers.

Watch out for some electrifying performances and ecstatic musical fusions by Barefaced Liars, Hari & Sukhmani and Gowri & The Jass B'sterds.

THE BAREFACED LIAR is an amalgamation of the distinct and eclectic musical taste of its members, Akshay Chowdhry ,Sumant Balakrishnan and Dushyant Purohit. The band will bring forth a musical fusion heavily influenced by all time classic sounds of bands and artists such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Hendrix and Metallica while leaning towards a more modern sound.

HARI & SUKHMANI, an ambitious duo will bring to table, a curiously contemporary take on traditional songs from the land of Punjab. Their music which is a blend of folk with ambient electronic and coupled with finest production skills makes their act one of the kind.

And not to be missed, GOWRI & THE JASS B'STERDS bring an eclectic mix of musicians and influences. Ask them about their music and they say it is, "a bastardization of jazz" thus describing the foot-tapping somewhat cerebral yet energetic sets they play. Also watch them combine some interesting add-ons like shakers, a megaphone, a whistle, mouthorgan and even an analog radio with their traditional instruments- the keyboard, bass guitar and drums.
