93.5 Red FM brings joy and tears with Khaki Ko Rakhi

MUMBAI:India’s largest radio network 93.5 Red FM had started its Rakhi initiative in Mumbai called ‘Khaki Ko Rakhi’ last year. The 2nd edition of this campaign reinforced the spirit of Rakhi celebrations today.

What do we do for those who protect us? Those who stand at the signals in the Mumbai heat for more than 12 hours a day. Most of us criticize them for their shortcomings. 93.5 RED FM decided to take a different approach. On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, we decided to surprise the police. We explained on air to our audience how it’s important to appreciate and not just criticize. This encouraged listeners to tie Rakhi to the cops who were totally taken by surprise. Overwhelmed, most of them had tears in their eyes.

This year, we took listeners to JCP Crime Himanshu Roy’s house where they personally tied a rakhi to Mr Roy!

This was a small token of appreciation from a station that believes appreciating people who work for this city, a city of dreams, a city we call Mumbai!
