92.7 Big FM & RAMKY presents BIG Green Ganesha 2010

MUMBAI: 92.7 BIG FM, the radio arm of Reliance Broadcast Network Limited is taking its endeavour of supporting the environment by creating a greener and cleaner country and offering local connect to its listeners by launching another major initiative - BIG Green Ganesha 2010 with the support of RAMKY, an environment based company as the title sponsor. BIG Green Ganesha had initially been launched in 2008, this time it plans to take it to another level and make it a grand affair.

As the countdown begins, the station is set to capture the spirits of much awaited Ganesh Mahotsav by already launching a paper collection drive that will end on September 10, 2010, followed by the BIG Green Ganesha sthapana puja on September 11, 2010 at various malls and pandals where the Ganesh idol will be installed in the thirteen cities - Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Indore, Surat, Bhopal, Goa, Gwalior, Sholapur, Baroda, Vizag, Mysore, Mangalore.

92.7 BIG FM, India's No.1 FM Station Network is leaving no stone unturned by bringing celebrities and renowned people from their coveted field to contribute to the collection drive. For instance, in Mumbai, the effervescent and well-known Bollywood actress Vidya Balan donated the first set of newspapers today, followed by BIG FM's RJ & Ramky Enviro's MD & CEO Mr. Raman Nanda. The newspapers are being collected by BIG FM RJ's on a daily basis by visiting different areas of the thirteen cities.

BIG FM plans to bring experts to create the most striking and magnificent Ganpati, which will see the city's donated paper being used in putting it together. The craftsmen are ensuring a state of the art Ganesha, one which the city is sure to love!
In order to ensure maximum reach and multiple touch points, 92.7 BIG FM is creating a 360 degree campaign that will include microsite, social networking, on-air, on-ground, outdoor activities, et more.

92.7 BIG FM along with the title sponsor RAMKY will host an award function called RAMKY Award for selecting the best eco-friendly pandal. This contest will start from September 11, 2010 and will be judged on the basis of eco-friendly content that has gone in making the idol, the amount of recycle material used to decorate the Ganesha idol, other marketing initiatives taken to push worshippers to go green. These pandals will be taken on air to promote the cause and will be judged by representatives from 92.7 BIG FM, RAMKY and well-known dignitaries from the respective cities.
