92.7 BIG FM Kolkata flags off Avon BIG Greenathon

MUMBAI: Hundreds of city residents peddled cycle to work on Wednesday morning  AVON BIG GREENATHON was flagged off by Sri Anirban Chakraborty from BB Block Grounds Salt Lake City at 8.30 am on 22nd December Morning. Riding on their bicycles around hundreds of residents participated in the AVON BIG Greenathon. The participants peddled cycles at Salt Lake and later moved on to their work places on cycles. RJ Koushik, who was leading the Greenathon, peddled the bicycle to BIG FM studios situated at Sector V, Salt Lake. One selected resident from city will be given one AVON JOCKEY bicycle! Thousands of citizens supported the cause by sending in text messages (sms).

It was a sunny Wednesday morning when RJ Koushik started his journey from BB Block Grounds along with hundreds of office and school going citizens. The journey moved towards Karunamayee and soon everyone parted way towards their work places, schools and other destinations. Earlier Mr. Anirban Chakraborty flagged off the Greenathon. The authorities also peddled the cycle along with the city residents. India's largest private radio FM network 92.7 BIG FM and AVON Cycles have crafted the activity with a message of green and clean environment.

Speaking on the occasion, Sridatri Banerjee, Radio Operations Head - East, BIG FM said, We are absolutely delighted to see the participation of the city. We thank the city for showing such amazing enthusiasm and participation. BIG FM has always worked towards making life better, the AVON BIG Greenathon was crafted with an aim to spread a message of greener, cleaner and healthier tomorrow. It's an effort to make this planet a better place to live. Hundreds of working people, school children, NCC cadets and other city residents have participated in the Greenathon and have moved to their workplaces on cycles. We are happy to share the common platform with the residents from various parts of the city....

Speaking after the successful launch of the Avon Big Greenathon, MD Avon Cycles Onkar Singh Pahwa, said It has been an overwhelming experience for me. Seeing hundreds of people coming together for this event was a delight. I thank every one who joined hands towards this cause and I hope that we all keep the promise of riding a bicycle to work at least once a week. Our small step has been made into a giant leap by the enthusiasm of the participants; I wish them all the luck and congratulate them once again....
