Samsung rolls out Samsung Marine in India

MUMBAI: Samsung has unveiled its new outdoor handset Samsung Marine (B2100) in India. The new handset claims to withstand several elemental dangers.

The submersible phone is enveloped with a special anti-shock urethane material claiming to be capable of withstanding bumps, bangs, scrapes and can resist dust and water.

The new product supports IP57 certification, ensuring its safety even if it remains immersed in one meter of water for about half an hour.

Besides, the product, designed to withstand extremely hot and cold temperatures, humidity, sand and fog. It also supports all Military Standard 810F (MIL-STD-810F) of the US Defense department.

Samsung Mobile Division country head Sunil Dutt says, Samsung Marine is the perfect companion for consumers who enjoy active outdoor activities....
He further adds, Product innovation is an integral part of our overall marketing strategy and products like our recently introduced 'Solar Guru' and 'Samsung Marine' exemplify the same. Based on our innovative product launches and range enhancement across different segments, we are expecting to double our sales volumes this year."

The handset has a 1.77-inch screen (256K colours, 120x160 pixels) and is loaded with 1.33 megapixel camera with flash lights, also VGA recording at 15 frames per seconds.

The handset has expandable memory up to 8 GB, supports other multimedia features such as FM radio, camcorder and music player. Besides it also incorporates outdoor friendly features like noise cancellation, loud external speakers and flash light. The built-in flashlight (with dedicated key) is going to come as a welcome relief for those inevitable moments where your batteries run out.

The mobile available in red and green colours is priced at Rs 7030 for the Indian market.
