Nokia launches two mobile handsets in India

MUMBAI: Nokia has announced the launch of two entry level mobile phones for its Indian customers: Nokia 2600 Classic and Nokia 1209. To strengthen its customer base, Nokia has included bundle of attractive features in these two models of their mobile phones.

Talking about the release Nokia India marketing head Devinder Kishore says, "Phone sharing is a logical trend - more and more families are purchasing a mobile phone for the entire family to use, not just the head of the household. In addition, digital cameras are quickly becoming more popular in these markets, and as such taking and sharing digital images is becoming more common."
Nokia 1209 is priced at Rs.1789. The handset can be used by multiple users effectively and economically. Maximum 5 people will be able to use the handset for their individualistic requirements and everyone of them will be able to monitor their mobile activities using the integrated prepaid tracker. Maximum 200 numbers can be stored in multiple phonebooks of the phone. Improved power saver mode will allow enhanced battery life as claimed by the makers.

Nokia 2600 classic can be customized with MP3 ring tones and colorful Xpress-on covers. Other prominent features of 2600 are Nokia Xpress Audio Messaging, VGA camera, MMS, and FM radio. It is priced at Rs. 3539.
