Nokia launches Lumia 900 in India

MUMBAI: With the huge humdrum of Iphone 5 launch in the mobile market, Nokia decided to quietly launch its much talked about smartphone Lumia 900 in India.

Priced at Rs 32,999, the smartphone runs on Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango), and is powered by a 1.4GHz single-core Qualcomm processor, 512MB RAM, 16GB internal memory and 1830mAh battery. The handset claims to offer maximum of 300 hours of stand-by time, and seven hours of talk time. The Lumia 900 will be updated to Windows Phone 7.8 when the operating system is launched.

The device is embedded with 4.3-inch AMOLED screen featuring ClearBlack technology with polycarbonate body, music player, FM player, 8MP dual LED flash camera with an aperture of f/2.2, 1 MP front camera and 720p HD videos recording at 30 frames per second. The handset supports various connectivity ports and points including GPRS, HSPA, EDGE,HSUPA, GSM, HSDPA, LTE, WDCMA, Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB 2.0 port, DLNA, Bluetooth v2.1 with EDR, GPS and A-GPS support

The smartphone has also been enhanced with various apps like contact sharing, ringtone app maker, Cinemagraph, Smart Group Shot, Nokia City Lens and Nokia Counters. Nokia City Lens will provide user with an augmented reality overlay view of buildings and instantly highlights places of interest while Nokia Counters app will help user to keep an eye on their phone usage.
